William Dallas III is the Founder and Senior Pastor of the Gospel Fellowship Church (GFC) in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. As a South Philadelphia raised youth who dabbled in destructive behaviors, young Billy came to the conclusion that he needed a change in his life one day while watching the great evangelist Billy Graham on television. In the privacy of his living room, at the young age of 13, Billy Dallas reached out with child-like faith and was converted after repeating Billy Graham’s famous sinner’s prayer.
He is now eternally grateful that God’s grace allowed his conversion to come “just in the nick of time” before he got pulled too far into the destructive drug and street life. He was later invited by a friend to the Rock of Ages Church in Camden, New Jersey, which he eventually joined in order to establish a firm foundation in the Christian faith. Bishop Raymond Walker, Pastor of Rock of Ages, recognized young Billy’s unique zeal to live for the Lord and took him under his wings.
Bill was then privileged to be exposed to many aspects of ministry in his youth as a result of traveling throughout the country with his pastor who groomed and trained him in the ministry. Not surprisingly, the mantle to preach the good news fell on Billy Dallas and he answered the call to preach the Gospel at a young age. He gave his first sermon at the age of fourteen and was officially ordained to the Gospel ministry eight years later in 1984.
After high school, in 1980 he entered Penn State University where he majored in Individual and Family Studies and ran on the track team. While attending Penn State, he also led campus Bible studies and periodically travelled as an evangelist. In addition, he was a part of the ministerial staff of the Assemblies of God Church, where he served as Assistant Campus Pastor and eventually as Interim Campus Pastor in a multicultural ministry setting.
In 1986, Minister Dallas relocated to Harrisburg, PA with his family as a result of an internship which eventually led to his employment with Teen Challenge as a substance abuse counselor and self-awareness instructor. After working with Teen Challenge for 4 years, Minister Dallas took a position as the Director of Operations in the Bethesda Mission. His responsibilities included counseling and teaching Biblical principles to the homeless, developing employment and self-enrichment classes, as well as distributing food to various needy individuals in the community.
In 1994, Pastor Dallas resigned from Bethesda Mission to take on a position as Regional Administrator for One Church One Child. Through this non-profit organization, Pastor Dallas assisted various families with the adoption process for the purpose of helping children in need of a stable home. As long as he can remember, William Dallas has always been considered “a people person.” And his deep rooted concern and love for people have motivated him to spend most of his time in the workforce serving primarily in positions related to serving and helping people.
Not surprisingly, his love for people eventually led him to become the pastor and founder of the Gospel Fellowship Church in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The church was established in 1988 with a ministry focus to reach the lost and bring them into full deliverance through discipleship and training. The ministry also aims to impact the inner city through a strong deliverance ministry with an emphasis on a powerful demonstration of the Holy Spirit. The church also has a goal to help people build healthy relationships along with strengthening families.
Pastor William Dallas has established a reputation as a caring leader who is genuinely concerned about the well being of people. It is not uncommon for him to go the extra mile in taking the time to pray specifically for an individual during a church service. And he is also known to exercise unique spiritual gifts and a powerful anointing that brings fourth healing and prophetic words to visitors and church members as well.
Although Pastor Dallas is quick to point out that he is not an entertainer, he is also known for his dynamic and exciting style of preaching along with a demonstrative method of teaching that is practical, unique, and down to earth. Pastor William Dallas has been actively involved in ministry for most of his life and he is now focusing on the call to impact the entire city of Harrisburg by building people and training them to discover true vision and purpose.
Although his present focus is primarily on his role as pastor of the Gospel Fellowship Church, he is still available for some conference speaking and evangelistic services.
